A Note from SoZo Coffee Roasting
We want to take a moment to share with you why you may have noticed a change in our prices, both on our retail bags of coffee and in our café drinks.
Like so many others in the coffee world, we’re navigating significant increases in the cost of sourcing, roasting, and serving high-quality coffee. Climate change, unpredictable harvests, increased freight and supply costs, and global economic shifts have all played a role. Many of the farmers we work directly with have seen their yields drop dramatically in the past year, and their expenses rise.
At SoZo Coffee, we don’t just buy coffee. We build relationships. We’re committed to paying our farmers fairly and roasting each batch with care, right here in Ionia. When you sip our coffee, you’re tasting the work of real people, from the farm to our roaster to your cup.
Raising prices is never something we take lightly. But it’s how we ensure we can keep doing what we do the right way - ethically, sustainably, and with excellence.
Here’s what your support helps us continue to do:
- Source beans directly from small farms we know and trust
- Pay fair, living wages to farmers and producers
- Roast coffee fresh in-house with precision and care
- Offer quality wages and training to our local staff
- Keep creating a welcoming, community-centered café experience
We know you have choices, and we’re grateful every time you choose SoZo Coffee Roasting. Thank you for standing with us. For caring about where your coffee comes from, who grows it, and what it represents.
We're honored to be your neighborhood coffee roaster.
